Mayor Keith Greene, City of Alma, Arkansas Proclaims December 26, 2018 as Fredrick Rodney Potter Day in Alma, Arkansas. The day is also Fred’s 89th Birthday.
Mayor Doug Kinslow welcomes The Walking Veteran, Thomas Hudson, Fred Potter, and Allen Potter to the City of Greenwood, Arkansas. Fred Potter is a 88 year old Korean War Veteran who served in the Marines, Army, and the Army National Guard. Allen Potter is retired from the US Coast Guard. Present to welcome the veterans to city hall was Tammy Briley, Executive Assistant to The Mayor.
Arkansas Secretary of State, Mark Martin, recognized Fred Potter for his service to his country and for What is Right and Just. Mayor Keith Greene, City of Alma Arknsas had presented the certificate to Fred Potter on behalf of the Secretary of State during a special cerimony in the City of Alma councel chambers.
The Jack and Jill Singers honored Fred Potter, 88 year old Korean War Veteran. Fred had served in the Marines and in the Army. The Jack and Jill Singers are well known for their performances for veterans and in other venues.
On Tuesday morning the “Walking Veteran,” Thomas Hudson, took his cause to the streets of Fort Smith. He rallied support from the Fort Smith Police Department, Sebastian County Sheriff-Elect Hobe Runion and Mayor Sandy Sanders.

O’Reilly Auto Parts, store number 4096, in Alma, Arkansas is a big supporter of veteran. The support is not only evident in the customer service but also proudly displayed in their stores.
Two Lowes Stores in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area gave the red carpet treatment for The Walking Veteran. Lowes has donated another wagon for The Walking Veteran to use during the Veterans Walk in Solidarity event December 1, 2018 in Waldron, Arkansas.
“He cannot produce a Stradivarius, gold bullion bars and other items that don’t exist,” said nephew, Allen Potter. “It’s a mystery that the niece does not have to prove these items existed,” he added.
